John Hancock’s Revolution-Era Boston Home

by toptenrealestatedeals

One of America’s founding fathers and the man who made “Give us your John Hancock” an American expression to request a signature, a Boston home once owned by John Hancock is for sale. Built around 1767, it is believed that the home was used to store two million silver crowns he received from the French before disbursing them to the Continental Army troops to use in their war against the English. John was the longest-serving president of the Continental Congress and was quite wealthy due to an inheritance from his uncle. While it is not certain that John actually lived here, it is the only home from the Revolutionary period that is still standing in Boston. The home is listed with Dave Killen with LandVest.
