Over 40% of US Homes Decorated For Halloween

With 74% of Americans expected to celebrate this year, Halloween is one of America’s most popular party events. Compared to pre-pandemic levels, when just 68% of consumers expected to celebrate in 2019, participation in the holiday has been consistent as it gained popularity during the pandemic. The most popular ways Americans commemorate the holiday include giving out candy (61%), dressing in costume (50%), house and yard decorations (42%), pumpkin carving (42%), and scary movies (42%). This year, consumers are predicted to spend an average of $115.14 per person on Halloween events, candy, and decorations.
