LendingTree analyzed the living expenses in America’s 100 largest cities and found that an annual income of $100,000 would not cover typical household expenses such as housing, food, and child care in many cities. San Jose is the most expensive, with typical monthly expenses of $10,540. Nashville was the most affordable, with monthly costs of $751.
